TRIC (Technology Research Institute for Culture & Heritage) produced the digital content for the exhibition A Little Diamond Mountain: Journey to Chilbosan, jointly organized by the National Palace Museum of Korea and the Cleveland Museum of Art. The project reimagines the Chilbosando folding screen—depicting the scenic Chilbosan mountains in North Hamgyong Province—through immersive digital media, reviving the aesthetics of traditional Korean painting with contemporary technology. Actor Ryu Jun-yeol contributed narration in both Korean and English, lending his voice to guide audiences through the landscapes of Chilbosan as seen through the eyes of Joseon scholar Im Hyeong-su (pen name: Geumho). Despite a busy filming schedule, Ryu participated as an act of talent donation, for which he received a plaque of appreciation from the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea. Composer Yang Bang-ean also joined the project, enriching its artistic completeness with an original score. This Chilbosando initiative marks the first digital cultural heritage production co-organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation. As a pioneering effort to digitally recreate heritage objects held overseas, the exhibition set a new model for conservation and global sharing of heritage. Simultaneously unveiled in Korea and the United States, it demonstrates the value of international cooperation in cultural heritage.
