At the 6th Society for Conservation of Cultural Heritage in East Asia, held from August 24–25 at Fudan University in Shanghai, TRIC participated as a member and presented a case study on the digital restoration and experiential content development of the UNESCO World Heritage Afrasiab Palace in Uzbekistan.
The presentation highlighted TRIC’s comprehensive digital heritage approach—from scientific investigation of the murals and palace site to the digitization of artifacts, creation of a digital twin, and virtual restoration of damaged sections. The resulting assets were developed into immersive AR/VR and digital media content. The project drew significant interest for demonstrating a full spectrum of advanced technologies and emerging trends in digital heritage through a single case.
With experts from Korea, China, and Japan in attendance, the event served as a meaningful platform to share Korea’s progress in digital heritage and foster cross-border exchange.
