The final piece in the government-led 'Gwanghwa Murals' project—an initiative to fill Seoul’s Gwanghwamun area with immersive content—was revealed to the public on the 25th. A 100-meter-long LED screen in an L-shape was installed on the exterior wall of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History near Gwanghwamun. The screen features anamorphic media art that uses optical distortion to create an illusion of three-dimensionality.
Among these, Gwanghwa Chronicles, created with the participation of TRIC serves as the signature content of the mural. It offers a panoramic view of major events in Korean history since the relocation of the capital to Hanyang (present-day Seoul), centered around Gwanghwamun. Rendered as dioramas in the form of statues, the content highlights not only iconic figures such as Admiral Yi Sun-sin and King Sejong, but emphasizes that every citizen is a protagonist in Korean history worthy of a place among the statues of Gwanghwamun Square.
