As part of the Korea Heritage Service 2017 Digital Heritage Production Project, TRIC produced a 13-minute UHD documentary film on Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Despite the destruction Suwon Hwaseong suffered during the Korean War, it was able to be restored and later designated as a World Heritage site thanks to the meticulous records found in the <Hwaseong Seongyeok Uigwe>. The documentary focuses on the enduring vitality that the fortress gained through these records, highlighting not only its historical and scientific value but also King Jeong-jo’s philosophical vision and the architectural grandeur and elegance of the site. These elements were faithfully brought to life using TRIC’s internally built 3D modeling database of Suwon Hwaseong. In consideration of the public interest of the project, narration was provided pro bono by actor Lee Seo-jin, who portrayed King Jeongjo in the historical drama Yi San.
