TRIC produced and installed the large-scale media artwork Miracle of Time: The People Who Built Korea on the K-Culture Screen — a monumental LED façade on the exterior of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History.
The piece captures Korea’s remarkable industrial transformation in the decades following the Korean War. Using a dynamic blend of archival materials and digital visuals, it presents a compressed yet powerful timeline of the nation’s rise — from light industry and mining to heavy industry, chemicals, and semiconductors.
Featured artifacts from the museum’s collection include the JUKI DDL-105 sewing machine, miner’s headlamps and batteries, the iconic Pony automobile, and the world’s first 64MB DRAM chip — all representing milestones in Korea’s path to economic modernization.
To heighten visual impact, the work employs anamorphic 3D illusion effects, making historical scenes appear to break out of the screen. This captivating technique grabs the attention of passersby and inspires curiosity among domestic and international visitors in Gwanghwamun Square.
The video was screened every hour at 15 minutes past the hour, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, on the museum’s K-Culture Screen. It is also available on the museum’s official website and YouTube channel.
