TRIC produced and installed the immersive media piece on the L-shaped anamorphic LED screen at the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History. The content captures key historical milestones that led to the founding of the Republic of Korea.
This large-scale digital artwork compresses pivotal moments from modern Korean history — including the righteous armies (Uibyeong), the March 1st Movement, the Provisional Government of Korea, Liberation Day (August 15), and the official founding of the Republic in 1948. Key figures and events are brought to life through realistic 3D scanning and modeling techniques, while a continuous 3D film strip running along the right side of the screen visually traces the narrative arc toward nationhood.
A highlight of the work is the reimagining of the historic 1948 ceremony in Gwanghwamun Square, where the government’s establishment was publicly proclaimed. The scene evokes the collective struggle and democratic aspirations that shaped the modern Republic.
