On September 18, at the opening day of the Jeonju Future City Forum 2025 held at Lahan Hotel Jeonju, TRIC presented its vision for the future of digital technology and cultural heritage. CEO Ji-Kio Kim delivered a talk titled “Beyond Preservation to Creative Succession: Shaping the Future of Culture through Digital Technology” at the “Cultural Cities, Global Renaissance” session.
In his presentation, three key themes were highlighted: changes in production structures, expansion of industrial scope, and policy implications. Kim explained that “AI provides new opportunities for regions and small enterprises that may have strong planning capabilities but limited production resources. Now, even a single creator can directly produce high-quality content.” He stressed that this does not replace existing industry structures but expands the overall scope of the content industry.
He added, “In today’s environment, where productivity and diversity in the content industry can be expanded even with limited budgets, the crucial task is to foster an ecosystem for the spread of applications. This opens the door for TRIC, a local creative studio, to compete in global markets by leveraging creativity and planning expertise.”
The Jeonju Future City Forum 2025 was held on September 18–19 as a platform for sharing sustainable city strategies and practices while exploring the future of global cities through discussion and collaboration. The opening keynote was delivered by Mario Santana Quintero, Senior Researcher at the UNESCO International Centre for the Interpretation and Presentation of World Heritage Sites, on the theme of “Empowering Cities through Cultural Heritage: Technology, Strategies, Opportunities and Challenges.” Another keynote was given by Choi Jae-Cheon, Chair of the Biodiversity Foundation, titled “Deliberations for Future Cities: Diversity, Coexistence, Sustainable Urban Development, and Global Solidarity.” Subsequent sessions featured distinguished scholars and experts from Korea and abroad, covering five key themes—Cultural Cities, City Branding, AI Innovation, Youth Future Lab (population crisis), and Citizen Future Lab (eco-friendly mobility and new facilities)—through in-depth lectures and discussions on the future and possibilities of cities.
