Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visiting the Old Korean Legation Museum in Washington, D.C. became difficult — so TRIC set out to recreate the experience through immersive, multi-surface media.
Despite the pandemic, TRIC’s team traveled to Washington, D.C. with specialized three-sided filming equipment. From September 11, 2021, they spent 10 days capturing the museum’s interior and exterior through 3D scanning, motion graphics, and immersive filming techniques. The resulting high-quality video allows audiences to virtually explore the historic site as if they were standing inside it.
The final work premiered on December 21 at the National Palace Museum of Korea, inside the Digital Heritage Sharing Room’s multi-view theater. It was also released online as a 360VR virtual experience.
