TRIC held a special solo exhibition at Daejeon Shinsegae Gallery, running through October 13. The exhibition showcased UNESCO World Heritage sites and other cultural assets through media art. The immersive exhibition aimed to make cultural heritage more accessible to audiences.
Designed to provide a comprehensive overview of TRIC’s latest immersive content and technological innovations, the exhibition featured a responsive installation on the making of Digital Gwanggaeto Stele (currently displayed in the main lobby of the National Museum of Korea), allowing visitors to experience the technical process behind digital restoration firsthand.
One highlight was the immersive media artwork <Seven Jeweled Mountains>, which reimagined Joseon era folding screen painting through motion graphics and projection mapping. The piece was accompanied by voice narration and music, inviting visitors on a poetic expedition through history.
An interactive media art piece based on Changdeokgung Palace—a UNESCO World Heritage site—blended digital technology with traditional Korean arts such as geomungo sanjo (zither music), pansori (epic vocal storytelling), and salpuri dance, offering a deeply sensory experience.
National treasures such as the Pensive Bodhisattva, Ten-Story Pagoda of Gyeongcheonsa Temple, and the Gwanggaeto Stele were transformed into media art with gemstone-inspired textures like diamond, ruby, and crystal. These visuals were projected onto floating silk curtains, allowing visitors to walk through and view the digital masterpieces from multiple perspectives.
