Official ceremonial media for the Korea–U.S. and Korea–China summit events

The official cultural content of the 2025 APEC Summit, Echoes of a Millennium, A World in Harmony, premieres on October 27 at the National Museum of Gyeongju and the K-Culture Museum at Incheon International Airport.

This 50-meter immersive digital heritage work begins with the revived resonance of the Bell of King Seongdeok, whose thousand-year echo bridges the spirit of ancient Sorabol — once a global hub of exchange — with the Gyeongju of today, expanding into a shared message of connection, innovation, and prosperity among the 21 APEC member economies.

The work was produced under the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) by TRIC, drawing on more than a decade of digital restoration data of the Silla capital and authentic bell-striking audio recordings preserved by the National Museum of Gyeongju.

TRIC visualized the bell’s unique acoustic phenomenon, maeknori, through AI-powered sound-data visualization, transforming waves of frequency and resonance into a living space of light and movement. The entire 1,360 urban blocks of ancient Sorabol were reconstructed in 3D, vividly reviving the city’s historic urban layout and sacred landmarks — Hwangnyongsa Temple, Bunhwangsa Temple, Wolseong Palace, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and more. This large-scale cinematic work spans 50 meters in width and 4 meters in height, matching the grandeur of a global summit stage. Architectural details such as gilt-bronze ornaments and green-glazed roof tiles were precisely restored, bringing back the splendor of “the Golden City” of Silla. The narrative unfolds from the first chime of the Bell — through the dawn over the ancient capital, the towering Wooden Pagoda of Hwangnyongsa symbolizing technological mastery, the grid-planned capital embodying interconnectedness, and the flourishing culture of 8th–9th-century Silla symbolizing prosperity — before expanding outward into the world as the bell’s resonance spreads across the Pacific, echoing the summit’s guiding theme: Connection • Innovation • Prosperity. Notably, the work served as the ceremonial backdrop for the APEC heads-of-state protocol events, where U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping each walked past the 50-meter digital Sorabol boulevard, appearing as though they were marching through the ancient royal capital itself. The score is composed by world-renowned musician Yang Bang Ean (Ryo Kunihiko), and sound design is led by Choi Taeyoung of LiveTone, Golden Reel Award winner for Parasite and sound director for Mickey 17. This project demonstrates how heritage can be reinterpreted and extended into future cultural assets through the fusion of tradition and technology. Combining a decade of accumulated data, advanced digital pipelines, and artistic imagination, Echoes of a Millennium, A World in Harmony stands as a landmark achievement, marking the global debut of Korea’s digital-heritage vision through APEC 2025.
